Hell Is Real — And We Must Warn Those We Love
In an age that celebrates comfort and avoids anything unpleasant, few topics are pushed aside more quickly than the Bible’s teaching on Hell. Yet Jesus spoke about Hell openly, urgently, and repeatedly—to save them. If Hell were not real, Christ would never have endured the cross. If judgment were imaginary, the gospel would lose its meaning.
But Hell is real. And because it is real, we who know the truth must lovingly warn others.
The Bible offers no vague metaphors here—its language is sharp and sobering.
Jesus called it “outer darkness” where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 25:30).
He described it as a place “where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44).
Revelation 20:15 declares: “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Jesus spoke them because He loves souls too much to remain silent. His warnings are acts of compassion.
It exists because sin is real, holiness is real, and rebellion against a holy God has consequences.
Romans 6:23 states plainly: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Every person must choose: the wages, or the gift. Judgment, or mercy. Separation from God, or eternal life in Christ.
Hell is not a place God desires anyone to go. Scripture reveals the opposite:
“The Lord is… not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
—2 Peter 3:9
If you saw a house on fire with someone asleep inside, would you hesitate to knock? Would you worry about offending them—or would you do everything possible to warn them before it’s too late?
Sharing the gospel is not about winning arguments; it is about rescuing souls.
Jude writes:
“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.”
—Jude 1:23
This is the mission of every believer. Not everyone will listen. Not everyone will appreciate the warning.
But eternity is too long, and the stakes are too high, for God’s people to remain silent.
Share your testimony.
People cannot argue with the work Christ has done in your life.
Use Scripture, not opinions.
God’s Word carries power our human reasoning never will.
Pray for open hearts.
Only the Holy Spirit can convict, draw, and save.
Love people enough to stay faithful.
A warning given in love is an act of mercy.
A Final Plea
Hell is real. Heaven is real. Christ is the dividing line.
Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
—John 14:6
The urgency of eternity rests on that truth. We warn not because we are superior, but because we remember the pit Christ rescued us from. We speak because someone once spoke to us.
We proclaim because time is short and souls are precious.
May God give us courage to lovingly warn a world asleep in danger—and compassion to never stop pointing them to the Savior who still saves.
